COLLECTION: Victorinox Jumpmaster 111mm (2000s)

The Victorinox Jumpmaster is a four-layer liner locking SAK.  It is one of the precursor models of the future IWA Knife of the Year winner - the Rescue Tool.  It has a large linear locking main blade, belt cutter, wood saw, can opener with small screwdriver, bottle opener with large screwdriver, reamer, philips screwdriver and the scale tools.

It's the first SAK together with the Fireman (corkscrew instead of philips screwdriver in the back layer) to include both the belt cutter and wood saw.

This is an extract from the Victorinox 2012 Catalog.  It's a cool way to see in one glance all the current Victorinox models.  All rights reserved to Victorinox. I just want to share.

COLLECTION: Victorinox Picknicker 111mm (1980s)

The Victorinox Picknicker is a two-layer 111mm model with a large side-locking main blade.  It also has the opener layer - can opener and bottle opener and the awl and corkscrew in the back layer.  Tweezers and toothpick are also included in the scale slots.

The Picknicker is one of the few 111mm Locking blade knives released by Victorinox in the 1980s and included in the 1989 Swiss Army Brands (SAB) Catalog.

It has been popular since then and continues to be in production (current as of 2015).

COLLECTION: Victorinox Alpineer 111mm (1980s)

The Alpineer is a 111mm single blade, side locking swiss army knife introduced during the later part of 1980s.  I have a 1989 catalog which features it together with some other 111mm models.

Apart from the single large slide locking blade, it also has the corkscrew and tweezers and toothpick and the key ring attachment point.

It is usually in red nylon scales but a black version was released for the Simmons Scope company.

COLLECTION: Victorinox One Handed Trekker (OHT) 111mm (2000s)

The One-Handed Trekker is a three-layer 111mm SAK with linear-locking blade that can be opened one-handed using an opening hole in the main blade.  It also has a strong locking flat screwdriver (inline) and a philips screwdriver in the back layer.  The OHT was introduced by Victorinox in 2003.  This particular model was produced after 2007 when Victorinox re-designed the linear locking mechanism and changed the geometry of the OHT opening hole to make it more rounded.  This is the civilian version of the 2008 model Soldier's knife.  The only difference is that this model has the black nylon scale versus the one in the Soldier which has the embossed sections for better gripping.

COLLECTION: Victorinox Soldier's Knife Year 2008 Model 111mm (2000s)

This is the updated version of the Soldier's Knife.  This is a next major change in the design which uses 111mm instead of 93mm.  The scale also changed from Alox to embossed grip-rubber type.  The design was based on the OH-GAK (One-Hand GAK) which was developed for the German Army.

This "09" model completes the birth years of my children :)
